MyTeacher Tools Officially Lanuched
California Education Alliance is please to present the launch of two new tools for teachers and students at www.classportal.net. MyTeacher webpages is a powerful database-driven tool that generates Flash-based websites for teachers and educators. Information on the websites can be modified by the teacher in real-time and allows for easy upload and sharing of files, which can significantly reduce copying costs for handouts. Assignments, syllabi, and announcements are displayed and organized by classes, allowing both students and parents to be kept up-to-date with the latest changes in course development. Finally, MyTeacher webpages is a great way to introduce and engage student to web-based learning and the usage of internet educational resources.
MyHomework tool is student’s version of the teacher website and allows the student to organize all his/her class information via an easy-to-use web interface. The ‘scrap board’ tool is also available for to storage of personal notes, which can be accessed by the student anywhere.

High School Science Journal Program
CEA is pleased to announce its first student publication project with the launch of our High School Science Journal. This biannually-published journal will consist of research papers and science-related articles submitted by high school students. A formal call for papers and specific guidelines of submission will be announced in the coming weeks. Article submission will be opened to all high schools of the San Diego City School District. Articles submitted will be reviewed by a peer editorial board from representative high schools. An advisory board of university and industry professionals will guide and mentor the review and publication process.
We here at the CEA believe that this science journal is a wonderful opportunity for students to express their scientific interests and talents, as well as providing professional editorial and publication training at the high school level. This program will integrate with the CEA Summer Research Internship Program; participants of which are strongly encouraged to submit their research projects for review and publication.
Please check back for the latest development of this and other exciting education programs by CEA. For questions and suggestions concerning the Science Journal, please contact the HSSJ department at journal@unitedpurpose.org.
